Russia’s online advertising market grew 35 per cent year-on-year to a market value of 56.3 billion rubles ($1.9 billion) in 2012.
This accounts for almost a fifth of Russia’s total advertisement market.
Online advertising is growing faster than any other advertising segment.
It increased four times faster than the most successful segment – television.
TV commercials grew by 9 per cent to 143.2 billion rubles ($4.8 billion).
The volume of radio commercials rose by 23 per cent, amounting to 14.6 billion rubles ($486 million), print advertisement by two per cent to 41.2 billion rubles ($1.4 billion) and outdoor advertisement by 10 per cent to 37.7 billion rubles ($1.25 billion).
The total volume of Russia’s advertisement market amounted to 297.3 billion rubles ($9.9 billion) – a 13 per cent growth against 2011.
The number of internet users in Russia approached 60 million by the end of 2012 – almost half of the country’s population.
Russia’s internet audience is one of the largest in Europe.
