Human infections with a new avian influenza A (H7N9) virus were first reported in China in March 2013.
Local health and family planning commission said the southern Chinese province of Guangdong reported 4 new cases, including a 5-year-old girl while the the eastern province of Zhejiang has reported 69 infected people so far.
Chinese health authorities on Wednesday reaffirmed no proof has been found that the H7N9 virus is spreading from human to human. 3 people have died since the beginning of 2014 in China due to the avian flu.
Most human H7N9 infection cases have been isolated so far, said a statement from the National Health and Family Planning Commission.
Most of these infections are believed to result from exposure to infected poultry or contaminated environments, as H7N9 viruses have also been found in poultry in China.
The World Health Organization reported 132 human H7N9 infections, with 44 deaths in 2013.
