“Russia has made a hefty contribution to this effort. Russia’s military transport aviation delivered 75 trucks [to Syria]. We have also allocated funds of up to $2 million that would soon be transferred to the United Nations,” Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told Voice of Russia radio station.

Moscow last week sent security for cargo operations at the port of Latakia and in Syrian territorial waters to transport toxins out of the war zone by sea.
Ryabkov has also said experts from US, UN, Syria and the OPCW will gather in Moscow on Friday to discuss the elimination process.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Tuesday that the “deadline 30 June to destroy chemical weapons in Syria will be met”.
A Russia-US brokered peace conference is scheduled to start on January 22 in Switzerland.
