Over 250 Russian servicemen from the Eastern Military District are to join Russo-Indian joint ground and naval drills at Indra-2013.

“The exercise will involve over 250 servicemen from the Eastern Military District and the same number of troops from the Indian armed forces,” the Eastern Military District’s press service said.

The exercises will be held in October at the Mahajan field firing range in India.

The servicemen will practice joint planning and execution of anti-terrorist missions and leading intelligence activities.

Last year the drills were held at Burduny training range in the Siberian republic of Buryatia in Russia and involved over 500 servicemen and 50 Russian combat vehicles.

The two countries have conducted five Indra-series joint drills since 2003.
