The trucks are carrying food, medicines, drinking water, and fuel.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Syrian Red Crescent said that about 35 trucks entered the town of Muadhamiya near the capital Damascus.
Muadhamiya has been under control of Islamist rebel forces who have sworn to remove Syrian President Bashar Al Assad. It has been surrounded by the Syrian army for months.
Announcement of the aid deliveries came in conjunction with a Russian Foreign Ministry statement that the “cessation of hostilities” deal agreed in Munich last week had just entered into effect with the first stage of focus being on humanitarian relief.
The Syrian Red Crescent said that aid supplies would also be delivered to towns and villages that are under government control, such as Kefraya and Foua.
By Friday, aid should reach Kafr Batna, Deir a-Zour, Madaya and Zabadani.
